We're working with a growing fintech technology business building risk and identity infrastructure for financial institutions across Southeast Asia. They're now looking for a Senior Financial Engineer to build a core analytical and detection capability from the ground up.
This is a senior individual contributor role with genuine ownership. You'll sit at the intersection of quantitative finance, credit risk, fraud detection, and backend engineering — turning complex financial data into models and signals that can ultimately be deployed into production.
The challenge is substantial: financial data is messy, markets behave differently, and risk patterns constantly evolve. You'll develop models around creditworthiness, affordability, cash flow, transaction behaviour and fraud, while building the feature pipelines and analytical infrastructure needed to make those models useful at scale.
Crucially, this isn't a role where you hand a model over to an engineering team and move on. You'll write production-quality Python, build APIs and services, work with SQL and data pipelines, and take ownership of model performance once your work is live. You'll also establish the validation and monitoring frameworks needed to understand accuracy, stability, false positives and changing risk patterns.
We're looking for someone with strong financial modelling experience — ideally 5+ years across credit modelling, quantitative risk, financial engineering, or data science within lending or credit. You'll need a strong understanding of scorecards, underwriting logic, model validation and statistical analysis, alongside the ability to build production software.
Experience with fraud detection, bank transaction data, open banking, ML frameworks, or financial risk across Southeast Asian markets would be advantageous.

Salary: THB 80,000–120,000 per month
